Godly Communication

I have heard it said that the primary function of words is to create and the secondary function is to communicate. I agree with that statement so much that I would even go so far as to say that the first carries over into the second! What do I mean by that? We can readily see in Genesis 1 how God used His Words to create the universe. “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Genesis 1:3 KJV And, of course, this is confirmed in Hebrews chapter eleven. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God , so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3 KJV This is what I mean by carrying over into the second. Look over at Ephesians chapter four and you will see that, even when you are using words to communicate, they are still creating! “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:2...

Personal Relationship With God

 I recently came across this short article our son wrote after a ministry trip to Belize. It is so good and so very important! During my recent mission trip to Belize I was ministering at a church. The sermon was on true worship.  As I was ministering, I told the congregation that true worship was so important because it helps with our personal relationship with God.  As soon as I said it, I was surprised. That wasn’t in my notes at all.  I wrapped up the sermon and started thinking about our relationship with God and how important it truly is. Galatians 3:25-26 says, “But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”  We are no longer under a schoolmaster.  We are made the children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.  We need to stop being afraid of God.  Stop thinking of Him only as a ruler that we must bow before at the throne.  Definitely stop thinkin...
