Foundations of Faith - The Word of God is the Source of Our Faith
L et’s look at foundational principle #4 - The Source of Our Faith is the Word of God. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 KJV Do you see that little word “by” there? “Faith cometh BY…..” That is the translation of the Greek word “ek ex” and, according to Strongs concordance, it is “a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence motion or action proceeds.)” The origin or source of our faith is the Word of the living God! Our faith springs forth from the seed of the Word! You can’t have real faith for something if it’s not in the Word. And you can’t have strong faith spring forth from a weak Word! What do I mean by that? “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Hebrews 4:2 KJV The Word won’t be producing what it should be producing in our lives (including strong faith) without being mixed with faith! ...
