Operational Principle #1 - Believe it in Your Heart Then Say it with Your Mouth
Now that we have looked at four of the foundational principles of what we need to know ABOUT faith, let’s begin looking at the fundamental OPERATIONAL principles of faith. How you put faith into operation and how it works.
Operational Principle #1 - Believe it in your heart then say it with your mouth!
Turn with me to Mark chapter eleven.
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Mark 11:22-25 KJV
In this teaching on faith, Jesus delivers SO much! He starts by telling us to “have faith in God!” That is the answer to most questions right there!
“What about America?!” - HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
“What about the economy?!” - HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
“What about my children?!” - HAVE FAITH IN GOD!
If you have a cross reference Bible though, you’ll see that the actual Greek right there says, “Have the faith OF God” and then Jesus begins describing how the faith of God works. Now remember, He had just used this kind of faith on a physical fig tree but He needed to use something bigger when He is teaching us because He said that we would not only be able to do what He did but even greater things than He did when He was here on the earth! - John 14:12 KJV
If that doesn’t excite you, I don’t know what will!
Going back to the passage in Mark though, a close examination of that passage will show that three things are absolutely necessary for the God kind of faith to function.
- Believe in your heart - don’t doubt
- Say it
- Walk in forgiveness - love
Speaking your faith is so vitally important to be able to operate in the God kind of faith that Jesus references the “saying” part of the process THREE times but the “believing” part of the process only once! And even when He says you have to not doubt in your heart but believe, He says that what you have to believe is that what you SAY will come to pass!
We do get more insight on what we are supposed to be saying in Romans chapter ten.
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:10 KJV
When you dig into the word translated “confession” in that verse, you will see that it basically means “words that are in agreement with our covenant!”
We shouldn’t just be saying any old thing that comes through our minds! Jesus said we are justified by our words (words that agree with our covenant), condemned by our words (words that disagree with our covenant) and we will stand judgement for every idle word (words that don’t really have meaning either way.) - Matthew 12:36-37 KJV
It is so wonderful and reassuring to know, from what the Holy Spirit said through the Apostle Paul in Romans 10:10, that as we continue saying what we believe (that is in agreement with our covenant) that our words will produce the entire salvation package in our lives! Protection, deliverance, divine health and doing well in every sense of the word becomes a way of life for us!
And also remember this, our angels are a HUGE part of the process! They are the “facilitators” of our salvation package! They are the workers making it happen!
“But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” “how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;”
Hebrews 1:13-14; 2:3 KJV
In order to put our angels to work however, we have to keep in mind that our angels are “voice activated!”
“Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, That do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.”
Psalm 103:20 KJV
That verse does not say that they listen to and obey the Word of the Lord. It says they listen to and obey the VOICE of His Word!
We have to give our covenant VOICE!
We must speak our faith in words of agreement with the Word of God and then our angels go to work to produce the manifestation of our salvation package in our lives!
GLORY TO GOD!
JESUS IS LORD!
